Dr. Anand Bhupalan was born in Kuala Lumpur. He went to La Salle Petaling Jaya and then did both his O Levels and A Levels in the United Kingdom. He obtained entry into Liverpool Medical University in 1979, before qualifying with MB.ChB. in 1984.
